New Year’s Eve at Donna Camilla Savelli

Rejuvenating tranquility

The Donna Camilla Savelli on the edge of Trastevere is a Baroque residence immersed in a regenerating silence that permeates the rooms and the common areas including the magnificent inner cloister.

Deluxe ingredients for the Festive Eve

The Gran Sala Borromini, the former refectory of the convent, hosts the New Year’s Eve dinner. The menu starts with appetisers featuring oysters and lobster, and continues with a tortello di ricotta and red prawns in a caciucco and truffle reduction, as well as the mischiato of Gragnano, potatoes and provola, Roman broccoli and baby squid.

In the front row

At the stroke of midnight, on the terrace of the Donna Camilla Savelli, fireworks light up Rome, and the good-luck ritual begins with lentils, cotechino and grapes, accompanied by traditional sweets. For those staying up to the wee hours, the express “bombs” are ready, hot and filled with cream.
